KurtJmac was my first and opened me to lorgon111, guude, Etho, bdoubleO (Watching his arena build), pauseunpause etc. I highly recommend checking out his channel FarlandsOrBust. He's journeying to the Farlands in 1.8 (they where removed in subsequent land generation updates) for childsplay charity. It also acts as his blog where he talks about other things he's taking part in (recently took up youtube posting full time) such as race for the wool and ultra hardcore series (New series up tonight) and space and Nasa themes. Stories aren't as good as Paul's but he's fairy funny and coined quite a few phrases other lets payers use =D

paulsoaresjr is my favorite, as could have been expected. But I can cite reasons why. As mentioned before, and probably not unlike many on this forum, I watch a LOT of Minecraft videos on YouTube by a variety of commentators. Paul's videos are a cut above the rest because he approaches Minecraft and most games with a degree of patience and preparedness. Also, he sets up actual "shows" where he acts in character, i.e. Skyrim and Tale of Kingdoms. It's not just a million Let's Plays where he fumbles through different mods, with Paul's videos it really is more about the commentator, rather than the gameplay.
I like CaptainSparklez and AntVenom as well, but their work is more typical of most Minecraft Let's Plays--or really, they are some of the best that do what they do, out of a pool of hundreds. Not many commentators make shows and play in character, the only other channel I can think of dedicated to that kind of content is thehillsoftware, which I found through Paul's channel.

I like Paul of course. But I also love to watch CaptainSparklez and Yogscast sometimes. I like watch random unknown minecraft video makers from time to time.
high school is such a serious thing, these problems matter
