hey guys my minecraft launcher is not starting its giving an error  like this "The registry refers to a nonexistent Java Runtime Environment installation or the runtime is corrupted the system cannot find the path specified ps i have tried re- installing minecraft but I get the same error

it looks like a problem with your Java installation. Try reinstalling Java and see if that helps.

I tried re installing java but it did not work

make sure everything is in the bin and try do force update if you can

If merlindima's suggestion doesn't work, try uninstalling all copies of java, reboot, and install java again.

Try to run a registry cleaner (CCleaner: http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner) after you uninstall Minecraft and Java. That fixed some problems for me before. Be careful with it though, back your registry up when it asks you. I have never had major problems, but BSOD's are possible.
