I recently bought a new computer and I downloaded minecraft.
When I tried to play it asked me to choose a plrogram to open it with.
I chose (obiously) the wrong program then searched it on the web and I saw I did't had java.
I installed java and all but now it still doesn't let me play the game.
Please help!

What you need to do is make it opens with java by right clicking it and choose to open it with java.

Yes I have tried that but I can't find what java file I have to choose from the C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre7

What i would do is just reinstall it after you uninstall everything if you can, then see if that works.

There are two versions of Java for Windows. (x86) and (x64)
Make sure you have downloaded and updated the correct version of Java for your operating system.

But this is excellent advice VVVV
Minecraft is small enough you can re-DL it in a couple seconds. But make sure Java is installed first.
Simply clicking on "Minecraft.exe" will automatically start Java and shouldn't give you any errors.

Do you mean that you don't know which program is java? If so, then look for java.exe, probably in C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre7\bin
If you don't mean that, then disregard this reply
Edit: Oh, I didn't read Avi's reply completely. Yeah, do as Avi suggested and use the Minecraft.exe to run it.
