Currently the requirements for DayZ are slightly higher than the minimum specs for ArmA II: Operation Arrowhead;
The minimum specs are as follows;
- OS: Windows XP or Windows Vista
- Processor: Intel Core 2.4 GHz or AMD Dual-Core Athlon 2.5 GHz
- Memory: 1GB
- Graphics: Nvidia Geforce 8600GT or ATI Radeon 3650 or faster with Shader Model 3 and 512 MB VRAM
- DirectX®: DirectX 9.0c
- Hard Drive: 10 GB free space
- OS: Windows 7
- Processor: Intel Core i5 or AMD Athlon Phenom X4 or faster
- Memory: 2GB
- Graphics: Nvidia Geforce GTX 260 or ATI Radeon HD 5770 or faster with Shader Model 3 and 896 MB VRAM
- DirectX®: DirectX 9.0c
- Hard Drive: 20 GB free space
To get the mod running you need to buy ArmA II: Combined Operations which gets you ArmA II and ArmA II: Operation Arrowhead both of these are required. I would also suggest getting it through Steam if possible as installing the mod through that version is easier. Though first things first make sure you can run it as there is nothing worse than throwing down £25 ($30) for ArmA II: Combined Operations just to find out you can't run it..

The MP5 SD is cool too but aiming in is a pain and finding ammo can be difficult also.... another great is the camouflaged M4 SD with Aimpoint but it is so hard to find I can't say it's the best.
The series is ok, boring at times really. I stay for the Minecraft though.

Most of it is wandering around a forest? More like running around in a forest trying to get away from the zombies that are furiously trying to chew on your flesh. You found the zombies in one of the cities, if you didn't already realise that. Well, zombies are chasing you, you probably should start running again.

- Running up and down hills.
- Running across roads.
- Following power cables to cities.
- Paddling in lakes.
- Storming barns while being 60x more tactical and strategic than necessary.. In case there is player in there.
- Looting the apartments in Cherno while shouting "friendly in cherno" over direct chat just so people know I'm there.
- Giving people aid only to get shot in return, they are so lovely when they do that. I take it as a thank you.
- Using random players as sniper practice just to watch them panic when I invariably miss.
- Training zombies onto the one lone survivor lying down in a field, seriously guys it's funny to do. (try it)
- Running around like a mad man with a hatchet. Surprisingly more effective that it sounds I die less doing this.
