Mcpatcher, I find it easy to use and it works.

Well, are actually different things. They have their downsides. McPatcher is easy to use but has one soul purpose, to patch textures. Optifine however, is harder to install but has many different features that effect minecraft in positive ways.

Optifine, made my game go from 20 fps to 50. I love the zoom feature too.

I prefer optifine as it can reduce lag on your Game. :) Without it, I could not enjoy Minecraft the way I do. Plus, it works just like MC patcher. Its worth the slightly more complicated installation!

I love using OptiFine since you can...

1) Access it easily in-game

2) Boost your FPS

3) Use the really cool "zoom" feature

I would prefer Optifine because of the great features of the mod. Also, try to use the edit button when you need to add more or you forget what you are going to say. YOu can do this by scrolling over the space near MulitQuote and on a phone tap the post to make it appear

I don't know much about mcpatcher, but Optifine is awesome for all the reasons that MiniGrim said. :)

Optifine is better for texture packs, it made my fps goto from 100 to 150+, and in the video settings GUI you have a button "Texture packs", so you don't have to log out or save you world and than switch your texture pack.
Minecraft should not be that awesome without redstone...

Optifine is harder to install...
Have you ever installed mods before? Cuz as far as mods go, optifine is pretty easy to install.

I prefer optifine because it is compatable with my other mods that require ModLoader. Also, the zoom function is great!

Do you like this post? Then like it! :D

it depends if your going to use mods because mc patcher isn't compatible with mods but optifine is you just delete the meta inf folder and drag the files in optifine to your mc jar and its installed and if you press control you can zoom and it boosts your fps by alot.

Optifine for sure. MCPatcher is hard to get working with other mods on a mac. With Optifine you don't need to go into terminal and type in a load of commands. Also it makes the game run smoother.

It really depends on what you are comparing them to.
