I'm not on the server, but I have seen many times animals escape from pens in Singleplayer and Multiplayer. What I was wondering is this: is anyone having problems with animals escaping from pens on this server, or is there plugins that are keeping it from happening.

P.S. - I didn't see any topic on this matter already, sorry if I missed it.

Ugh it is so annoying when animals do that, they somehow manage to glitch through the walls because they jump nonstop.
Why,Yes.

I've never had a problem with that, my animals tend to stay towards the center of their pens, becuase they are larger sized.

I know that sometimes it seems that mobs are going through the fence, but that is just a glitch.

Many times my chickens have somehow escaped from their securely closed pen and started wandering off. I had no choice but to kill them for breaking the rules! :P

They didn't really escape, It's just a glitch. They always glitch back into the pen.

No they don't ALWAYS. Especially not the chickens. I've found if the enclosure is just tall enough for them so they can't jump, then they will always glitch back. But they can glitch out and stay out depending on chunk loading and if they are just crafty. Though I've found that if they can't jump they don't like to move which makes breeding hard.

Yeah, very often they can just glitch right through the fence - especially on servers. I heard that using fences wasn't the best option for keeping animals in, because they can glitch around easily.

I never had a problem with animals escaping.
I don't farm animals, I trap them and keep them as pets. I kill them and breed in the community farm, there is never low on stack of animals.

I once had the same problem, so I use a different method of making pens
by making a 2 block deep hole so no one can escape

What you have to do is dig at least 3 blocks down (I dig 4) and cover the top in glass. To enter/exit, put a gate and ladder down.

Try this, no fences but glass up and up and up like a glass dome with an iron door. (I think its a glitch that you can get out with wood accessories.)

Yeah Ive had problems with things escaping too, and to answer the original question no there is no plugin or anything on the server to prevent this but there are ways to prevent it, for example I got so Mad at my sheep for escaping That I just made a 2 high fence wall and put a cobblestone roof on it. That seems to keep them in but they glitch through the roof occasionally, though they dont actually get out. You could also try making larger enclosures.

I have had this problem in singleplayer and on other servers but thankfuly they havn't gotten away on the MCD Server. Now I can have my own spy chicken farm without them escaping! :)

Argh, I hate the animals escaping from their pens. It drives me nuts! On my private server, we are trying to keep a steady food supply that is not just bread, but every time I go on, the cows have escaped and are running around the town, probably feeding Spy Chickens information about us.

Take it as a compliment when someone calls you weird.

I've found that as long the fencing has something on top of it (another fence layer, block of wood, etc.) the animals stay in.

But you still have to watch out for those spy chickens, they are quite crafty...
