Of the consoles, I own a PS3, PS2, PS, Wii, Gamecube, N64, and Super NES. I also own a GameBoy Pocket, Advance, SP, and Nintendo DS 1st and 2nd generation.
Of all the consoles I own, I enjoy my PS3 the most. I also use it the most. I use it to play the games I have, to watch movies, television series and documentaries on Netflix, and to occasionally utilize the web browser. My experience with the PSN is fairly extensive, having purchased my PS3 at launch *(for $600, my brother and I split the bill)* and immediately making an account. Looking back, I probably should have waited until the PS3 Slim shipped, but then I wouldn't have been able to enjoy all the games I did.
I've enjoyed my PS3 immensely, though it is beginning to show its age. With the attacks and downtime from last year, I cleaned out the hard drive and rebuilt the databases, kind of like running a defragmenter on your PC, and it's running as well as can be expected for the age of the machine. I clean out the vents on all the sides, especially if it's been sitting for a while without me playing. Regular maintenance will keep any machine running indefinitely.
I don't have huge hands, and I don't have tiny hands either, so the controller works fine for me. The triggers are placed well, and I'm used to the button setup. Sometimes I game so hard my hands start to ache, but that's usually remedied by getting up and stretching the tendons in my arms. Remember how they used to recommend you take breaks once an hour? They still do, they just don't say it anymore.
The games are of the highest quality. The ability to play in complete HD right out of the box is always a positive thing. Then again, playing your older PS games is also a positive, and I've successfully played every title that I wanted to. That's called backwards compatibility, by the by. The PS3 exclusive games aren't all the absolute best games ever. Some are quite innovative, and allow smaller developers to ship their games with the Sony label, almost guaranteeing sales.
The online is fantastic, for being free. The thing that separates Xbox and PS3 is the quality of online play. PS3 doesn't make you pay for online play, but the servers aren't always the best. You might get kicked every once in a while, but I've never experienced anything gamebreaking. Xbox servers are said to be of a higher quality, but since I don't own an Xbox, I can't attest to that conjecture.
Probably the only reason I still don't own an Xbox is because I don't want to pay to play online, even though it is cheap(ish). That, and (lately) the fact that the XBox and PS3 debate has been going on for years, with both sides spouting the same few arguments. It's my belief that this next generation of consoles will define what it means to be a console gamer.
And it looks like Nintendo jumped the gun a bit, again. The Wii U looks pretty awesome though.
