Hello, everyone, it's me, N1k0145, the guy with the creepy Enderkitten.

I'd like to know what you think of the changes they make in the DayZ patches and if you like them or not.
So, first of all, thank you Paul, for introducing us to this awesome mod, as you have with several other awesome games.

As you probably have noticed, they added female player models. But if you chose male or female, your choice is permanent. It's bound to your CD-/registration-key. You'd have to buy another copy of ArmA 2 just to play the other gender. What do you think about this? Here's my oppinion:

I personally like the fact that the choice of genders is permanent. Why? It makes you think. As we already know from the MMORPG-scene, many guys play a female character. Some because they like looking at female player models (that, a lot of these games, are way underdressed!!!), some want special treatment and seriously: We all know there are some guys out there, even if not many, that will go: "OMG, is that a real woman? Here, have all my gold!". And a lot of other people instinctively treat females differently (most of the time better) than males. I, as a guy, know that, and sometimes I behave differently when co-opping with a female character, but I still try to figure out through their chat messages, if it isn't a guy. In DayZ, where you need the local voice chat a lot, a female character would limit a guy by far. He could barely communicate, and seriously: How suspicious would it be if only 1 out of 15 female characters had a microphone, if you know what I mean?
It also adds this new aspect of psychology to the game. As a guy, seing another guy in the shed, with a much better weapon than yours and a bandit skin, you would instantly shoot him, no need to take that risk, he ain't a bandit for no reason. But what if it were an attractive woman. What would you do? (Sorry, Female readers, but I can't think of any questions to you right now.) I have no idea what I'd do, but I'd probably get my buttics out of there, forget the loot and run for the hills before I do anything stupid. Maybe I'd shoot her. I don't know yet. But, this game is highly realistic and roll playing, so compare this to real life. What would you do?

So, the next thing on my mind is: A couple of guys made a YouTube video, I think it were 4-6 or maybe a few more people, and they were standing in the church of one of the bigger cities (like Elektro) and a lone survivor happened to call for help. He ran out of food and was forced to go into town. There he got into a firefight with a zombie-horde and happened to run out of ammo, so the only thing he could do was run for his character's life. The group leader instantly offered him sanctuary, if he'd come to the church. Inside the group, he inspired the group members to kill him after having slain the zombies that were following him, eve though he had nothing. Absolutely nothing. One of the group members stood up against him, the others said nothing. The guy who didn't want to kill him, warned him via the chat, but he only replied that there was nothing else he could do, I think, that, or he didn't even read it.
So when he got to the church, they killed all the zombies, and all of a sudden, the inspiring shot him. He simply shot him. Just for fun. What do you think about that? I think it sucks, that was rude and completely uncalled for, he was not threat to them at all. He had no ammo, no food, and just ran from a horde of 25 zombies. I think the guy who made that vid is an idiot. An utter fool. Punchwood Soarvivors: Do it better! MUCH better, if you don't want to bring this shame over the name of this website and PauL's channel.

So, once again, what do you think about this? Do you have any topics you want to discuss?
With best regards, N1k0145!

In Response to the little anecdote, I think that punchwood.com should be renowned or its courteous members. So let's build up a name for ourselves here!

Minecraft Name: Skelly_Fella

Steam Name: Skelly Fella

Youtube Name: SkellyFella

(A pity that they are all slightly different)

Thank you for reading this...lush... post. Play Fair! ;)

I'm going to love and tolerate the crap out of you.

Yes, indeed, in 811 videos, Paul only wore once, and he censored it. The one and only 100% E for Everyone channel, that promisses to be one. That is quite impressive, considdering a lot of kids start with heavy-cal. swearing when they're still pretty young, no matter where they heard those swear-words, like... Well, E for Everyone forum, can't say it, of course I don't want to say it either, but I think you know what I mean.

But does anyone want to share his oppinion on those 2 DayZ topics I proposed, or maybe post his own topic and oppinion for discussion?

With best regards,
N1k0145

The situation I occasionally find myself in, many others probably too, is that you just stumble upon a survivor in some house, just like Paul in the "Bandit Surprise" video. I think those people, including the person Paul came across, may well be friendlies but are just paranoid and afraid the other might shoot them, so they are likely to shoot in some sort of preemptive self-defense. Sometimes I just run away but often I just end up getting shot while I'm trying to tell the guy I'm friendly. What do you all do in those situations?

As for the church bandit, I really dislike such people. If you're going to be a bandit, fine, but portraying to be friendly and then betraying someone's trust I find abhorrent.

As for the changes, I would love to get my hands on a ghillie suit!

I think banditry and Douchebaggery are a valid not to say vital part of the game. Personally, I'm carrying the fire, and have never shot at anyone else, but I have been sniped with no warning, and whilst it was annoying at the time, I've learnt to avoid situations like that...To be honest, I rarely see another player out there, and I normally avoid them when I do...If someone where to tell me THEY where also "carrying the fire" I'd team up though. Without the PVP element the tense imaginative "game in your head" that's a major part of this mod would be missing...
Look for me in game (Rusti8ullitole). I logged out in Pusta.
I have the female skin by the way...for all the reasons you describe. If there is cosmetic chargen, I try to make her look as much like my partner as possible. (She's purty) ;)

Yes, but really, why not co-op? They had no reason and no reason at all to shoot that poor guy. And, seriously, I think in DayZ you need every extra hand you can get. At least if you're not like these guys.

By the way, let's discuss this for a few posts: I think those guys are pretty good at this game. They get in, take everything they need, shoot every threat and get out of town in 5 minutes. 5 minutes. That is pretty impressive, isn't it?

Yeah I would like to play with other people, repair heli, bus or other stuff and record that and put on youtube. I dont want to shoot other players, but when they start shooting me, I have no choice.

Helis are quite hard to handle, and you need about 6 people for a good raid. I'm telling you, a boat or military car (especially HumVee) is perfect for a good escape, if they doN't have helis, helis have missiles.

Of course the PvP is an essential part of the game, it adds a lot of tension and makes for much greater immersion in the game. If I am in a city and see someone with some awesome gear I might just shoot him (haven't so far though). I just really don't like backstabbing.

Those guys do seem to have a pretty good handle on things. We should definitely get a bunch of soarvivors together and build ourselves a vehicle sometime.

Srsly, do you know Eden Eternal? He had to take a look at it before letting me dpwnload it. I guess it'll take a lot of good arguments for him to let me buy that game, but I won't give up.

I don't know it but giving it a quick look, I can imagine it will take some effort to convince him to let you play DayZ. Good luck
I feel like we're going a bit off-topic however.

Yes, indeed, let's get back on topic, shall we? And thank you for wishing me luck, by the way.

So, I think the people with the helicopter were playing quite professional. I already described why, but what do you think about these people?

I was looking at DayZ, I saw Pauls video about them. It looks pretty fun.

I can only agree with that!

And new topic: I'm quite glad they removed the bandit skins. Why? They had the German flag on one of the arms. That's kind of racist, considdering that the guys with the German flag are the annoying bandits who ruthlessly kill anyone unlucky enough to cross their path and rob their stuff. What do you think about this?
