Welcome everyone, my name is Glen, I go by the name Human and i'm going to start a RTS megathread for Starcraft 2. Ill go over the game for those of you who don't know what Starcraft 2 is. So obviously it is an RTS, i like to think of Starcraft as faster paced  RTS then most of the ones you could be used too. Some say playing a game of Starcraft 2 is the equivalent of playing three games of chess at the same time, don't let that discourage you Starcraft is a really amazing game.

Without spoiling too much, in starcraft's universe you can play as Terran(Human Race), Protoss(an ancient race of alien), And Zerg <3(Also and ancient race). All of them are completely different and you can play them in all sorts of ways. There is a in depth campaign you can play through, but Starcraft is mostly focused on its multiplayer.

Their are lots of good players out there hopefully I see someone you on, my goal is to bring Starcraft 2 discussions to punchwood.com I don't know how Paul feels about Starcraft or if he plays it but it is an RTS after all. Feel free to talk about all Starcraft 2 related content in this thread. My goal is too find new players and see what others have to talk about in terms of them game. I hope to learn a lot from some of the more experienced players. I ask that no one acts bad towards other players we are all free to leave our opinions here.

I love Starcraft 2! I was going to make a thread, but I guess you beat me to it . I personally play Zerg and like it the best, just because thats what I learned to play. I have been playing it for a month and my friend 5 months, but we are doing really good, and on the ladders already at high silver in 2v2, and have only been playing 2v2 for about a month. We have been beating high golds too. I'm not too good at 1v1, but I am decent. What race do you play and like the best?

If you want you can add me on SC2. I'm on my school computer right now, so I can't get my friend code for you, but I'll be sure to do that.

If anyone is interested in this game, but is not sure about it, message me on the forums. I have two or three SC2 passes that I would be willing to give away. They allow (I think) 8 hours of the game or 7 days, whichever comes first. So like I said, message me if you want to try this game out.

I'm glad you posted this because I love SC2, and while its awesome to talk at school with a friend about it, he's only one friend, and it will be nice to hear what other people think too.

Always good too see fellow zerg players, i also have some friends I play this game with i'm Gold in the 1v1 ladder and bronze 2v2 with a friend. I try to play starcraft at least twice a week, so for sure when you get to your computer you can send me your code and ill add you and maybe we can play sometime thanks for posting.

Maybe play peep mode and do some big games with punchwood fans!

Good idea! I'll go look at my code for SC2 now and post it so you can all add me. I play a lot during the week, but usually later in the day.

Congratulations, and welcome to the thread, maybe we could play and I could help you out before I made my switch to zerg I was a terran player

Cool, it is very fun like you said! And don't worry that you are in bronze league, nearly everyone starts there. With practice you will get better. I started playing a month ago, and on 2v2 with my friend we are beating high golds and low platinums, and are now in silver league. Also, do you have the free play cards from a friend? If you need another before you get the full game, message me, I have three extra that aren't going anywhere.

i have the starter edtion so i can play only limited maps and only as terran but i have no time limit (i just have to save up enough money to buy the full version).

I play SC2 as well! Stuck in Silver because i've been playing way too much League.. I haven't played a full ladder season since like season 3 or 4.. Luckily, I played 4 of my 5 placement matches for this season and I went 3-1. Hopefully i'll still be in silver (maybe even gold). I play protoss btw. I'll find my code later and post it. Hope to play with some of you!

yeah but since i don't have an actual job its kinda hard to raise $60 lol. but i started saving and am hoping to get it soon.

Yeah, I don't either, so I can understand how you feel, that you don't have a quick way to raise $60.

Yes this game is awesome! It's a lot of fun and a great strategy game .

the only thing thats stops me from getting this game is that loads of people have said it is a very hard game to get used to

yeah its really hard for me but its fun once you can beat something even if its an AI but i hear lots of playtime speeds up how fast you build an army and also the placement matches should place you with people in your level.

(got $20 only $40 to go + tax)
