Ever wanted to play the punchwood island seed but you wanted all the new stuff from 1.3.2?
Are you bored to downgrade to 1.2.5 just to make the "punchwood.com" seed to work?
Well here I am to solve yor problems!
I've done all those things for you so now if you want to play punchwood island just enter this seed and you're ready to go.

Um, thanks for helping. Somehow I feel like I am missing something.

The seeds punchwood.com and -2005064210 are the same as far as the Minecraft world generator is concerned.

Why don't word seeds work in 1.3.2? my sister tried "desert" and it worked.

Word seeds work perfectly well in 1.3.2.

Its about the punchwood.com seed that worked in 1.2.5
If you don't want to play it you don't have to.
Oh and the "word" seeds don't work and never did.

But i tried out! I gave "punchwood.com" in the seed and the seed number what you have is the same. If the words not work on your minecraft that doesn't mean that it is not working for all of us!

Word seeds have always worked fine. I don't know the exact science behind it, but when you type a word into the seed box, "punchwood.com" for example, it is turned into a set of numbers which form a seed. "punchwood.com" turns into the "-2005064210" seed.

People use word seeds because they are usually easier to type and remember than long number seeds. So words seeds do work, they always have. They are just displayed as a number once the world is generated.

For proof that the seeds work the same, I flew up straight from spawn and took pictures of the punchwood.com seed and the -2005064210 seed in the 1.3.2 and 1.2.5 versions on Minecraft.

As you can see there are few differences, maybe an extra tree here and there but otherwise they are the same. And of course 1.2.5 won't have the 1.3.2 features.

The punchwood.com and -2005064210 seeds work fine and generate the same island for the rest of us, in both 1.2.5 and 1.3.2. Maybe your Minecraft is bugged so the seed didn't work? Try force updating and see if that fixes it.

I just tried the "punchwood.com" seed on my 1.3.2 instance and it worked like it did in 1.2.5. I spent a while looking around the island and it's exactly the same as it was in 1.2.5, spawners in the same place.

It still works in 1.3.2, and yes that seed will work because it's the numeric equivalent of "punchwood.com"

Ok, i'm relaxing But i think it is a good idea to put the number seed in here! I was just wondering when you said it wasn't working.

Yup sometimes word seeds might mess up but numbers still works

I agree that it is best to include both the word and the number.

Lots of times the "mess up" on a word seed is that copy/paste adds a space at the end, which Minecraft includes when it converts it to a number. But if you copy/paste a number the same thing can happen so you will be messed up then, too.

Another frequent "word seed mess up" I have seen on other forums is when people don't remember exactly what word they used!

I have played around with seeds, mostly word based, since beta 1.5 and I have never seen Minecraft fail to work when the seed was shared and entered properly. (Literally hundreds if not thousands of seeds! Sometimes I wish I had kept track.)
